478CBA Meubles
As part of the Safari Group's international development strategy, the project to acquire the CBA-Meubles group (formerly Demeyre) at the end of 2021, with its 478 employees, three production sites in France, and two logistics platforms in China and Singapore, represents an external growth initiative aimed at fostering synergies in raw material sourcing with Cema-Bois de l’Atlas, while also developing kit furniture sales on the African continent from France.
The Demeyere Group was founded in 1910 in the Lille region of France and initially specialized in carpentry and cabinetry. Demeyere was one of the first furniture manufacturers in France to use particle board as a raw material in 1956. In 1960, the company began manufacturing kit furniture.
Today, CBA Meubles is the kit furniture manufacturing subsidiary of the Safari Group, owned since April 2022 by Cema-Bois de l’Atlas.
The company has three production sites in France (Pérenchies, Lompret, and Nersac), one factory in Vietnam, and two logistics centers in Northern France (in Linselles and Deûlémont), along with a trading subsidiary for complementary products (chairs, armchairs, and sofas) based in Singapore.
The logistics and storage centers in Deûlémont and Linselles cover areas of 25,000 m² and 45,000 m², respectively.
The product range covers the following categories: storage furniture, bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, childcare, and offices.
CBA Meubles supplies major furniture distribution chains, including Conforama (~36% of sales in France), But (~16% of sales in France), and Leroy Merlin (~25% of sales in France), with whom the collections are co-developed.
